Dell offers free workstations – made out of, um, card and sticky back plastic

Dell’s new Precision workstations are now available flat packed

Who needs a powerful Xeon workstation when you can make your own for free – Blue Peter style out of paper, glue and some sticky back plastic.

To celebrate the launch of its new Precision workstations, Dell has posted some free papercraft versions of its machines on its website. Simply download the PDF, print, mount on card, cut, fold tabs and stick. N.B. Please make sure you have adult supervision if you are using scissors.

It’s certainly not as taxing as the Taj Mahal or a Boeing 747, but computer spods can geek out till their heart’s content with different models available for the Dell Precision T3600, T5600 and T7600.

The weirdest thing is, the PDF just sits alongside the normal workstation spec sheets as though this kind of thing it totally normal. Maybe I’m just getting old?
