“As the biggest network for 3D printing we’re most likely also the biggest producer of failed prints.” explains 3D Hubs‘ head of community Filemon Schoffer. “So we thought it was about time to give those fails a second chance.”

In a boost to the environmental promise of manufacture through 3D printing, 3D Hubs has opened three recycling ‘Hubs’ in Boston, Breda and London, all equipped with shredders and Filabot extruders to recycle the materials.

To promote the new venture 3D Hubs has launched its Remake campaign, where designers and makers can share pictures of their worst 3D printing fails on social media with the hashtag #REMAKE3D.
The three most popular pics submitted before the end of today will be rewarded with a fully recycled spool of filament made by Refil.
